How to Choose a Contractor

  • Professionalism:  RestorePro treats each client and job with respect.  We don’t make promises that we don’t intend to keep.
  • Experience:  RestorePro has been restoring, repairing, remodeling, and building since 1998.
  • Skill:  RestorePro’s technicians and construction personnel are thoroughly trained and are held to a high standard of job performance.
  • Quality:  RestorePro does not tolerate sloppy, shoddy workmanship or materials.  Our reputation depends on your satisfaction.

Attributes your contractor should have:

  • References—Don’t just ask to see references, check them.  Ask the people who gave the reference if the contractor finished within an acceptable period.  Did the contractor leave a clean site?  Were there any problems?  If so, how were they resolved?  Were you completely satisfied with the contractor’s work?  Would you use that contractor again?
  • Sound Business Practices—If a contractor doesn’t pay his sub-contractors and suppliers, it can result in a lien against your property, even though you can prove that you have already paid the contractor for these expense.  This is another reason to check licensing, references, and even the Better Business Bureau before signing a contract.
  • Appropriate Company Makeup—A small contractor may be less expensive, but won’t always have the resources of skilled labor and time to keep up with the work if he has too many jobs going at the same time.  A big contractor can often offer more services—design, warranty coverage, financing, etc.–and generally has skilled, permanent workers that cover a variety of specialized jobs.  Your project will probably be finished in a timely manner, and on budget.  There is a place for each type of construction company.  You have to decide what your priorities are in completing the project in a certain time frame, the size of the project, and the skill level needed for various facets of the project.
  • Evaluation and Feedback—Customer satisfaction surveys give the contracting company valuable information on how to improve their service.  Any contractor who is serious about providing a quality result and experience for the property owner, should probably have such a survey.

The Remodeling/Building Process

  • RestorePro involves you, the client, in each step of the remodeling and building process.
  • A consultant meets with you to discuss your project, your budget, and your design ideas.
  • You are given a written project proposal of the work to be done.
  • You are kept up-to-date on each part of the project, in order to solicit your concerns and ideas.
  • You are part of every aspect of the project.
  • You will be given an inspection tour of the finished work to be sure that you are completely satisfied.
